The Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him said : "“From among all the conditions which you have to fulfil, the conditions which make legal for you to have sexual relations (i.e. the marriage contract) have the greatest right to be fulfilled.”

The above hadeeth empasises the importance of abiding by the conditions agreed upon between the man and woman prior marriage during their marriage contract. This is so as to safeguard the right of the wife especially lest her husband thinks he has a leeway in not abiding by the conditions he agreed to before marriage
